I wouldn’t have discovered my own deep roots in Italy, nor would I have ever found the sweet village that has become our second home, if my husband Ron Miriello had not led the way. For thirty-five years, Ron has been nurturing friendships all over Italy with designers, artisans, and business owners as well as laborers, contadini and grandmothers. His passion for all things Italian shines in his work as a graphic designer and owner of the prestigious San Diego based graphic design and marketing firm, Miriello Grafico. This week, Ron is traveling to Fort Collins, Colorado as Monfort Fellowship speaker at his alma mater, Colorado State University. CSU awarded him a scholarship to study art in Tuscany in 1975, an experience that sparked a lifelong love affair with Italy. The photo of Ron above was taken on the steps of his old art school, La Poggerina, in the hamlet of Ponte agli Stolli.
